Settings & Security

This section covers two main areas of configuration. First, Account & security: sign-in, password management, active sessions and device revocation. Second, accounting setup: OHADA VAT rates by country and customization of accounting journals for your tenant.

Your work session lasts 15 minutes and is renewed automatically as long as you are active — you stay securely connected without re-entering your password on every visit, and you are signed out automatically after prolonged inactivity. Each active session is visible and individually revocable from the interface — a lost or shared device can be disconnected in seconds.

For VAT, the 19.25% rate is pre-configured for Cameroon (CEMAC). If your tenant is based in another OHADA country, you can add the applicable rate in Settings → VAT. SYSCOHADA accounts 4431, 4452 and 444 are automatically assigned based on the VAT type configured.

Tip

The 19.25% VAT rate is pre-configured for Cameroon (CEMAC). For other OHADA countries, go to Settings → VAT to add the applicable rates (WAEMU: 18%, Gabon: 18%, Chad: 18%, etc.).

Account & Security

Accounting Firm / Multi-tenant

The Accounting Firm module is for chartered accountants and firms managing multiple client companies. From a single SynkriaOps account, you switch between all your client files in one click — each file remains fully isolated from the others, a guarantee enforced at the database level itself.

Caution

Revoking an active session immediately disconnects the user on that device. Use this feature if you suspect unauthorized access or if a device has been lost or stolen.

Users & roles

User management for your tenant (inviting a collaborator, changing a role, disabling an account) is handled in the Getting started section. Available roles are ADMIN, CFO, ACCOUNTANT, AUDITOR and CLIENT — each with precisely calibrated permissions, refinable via access groups and custom capabilities. Accountant (expert) access is not a tenant role: it is linked through the firm.

Note

Only a user with the ADMIN role can invite new members, change existing roles or disable an account. If you need your permissions changed, contact the ADMIN of your tenant.
